About

Welcome to  P O T A G E R!
My name is Linda Vater., a garden stylist, designer and writer who has lived and gardened at my 1935 English Tudor home in Oklahoma City for the past twenty years. I share this world with my three handsome men, my uber-patient husband and two wonderful sons. I'm a self-taught garden designer who obsesses over garden spaces, especially my own potager, a small decorative vegetable and herb garden. Here I grow fresh food and flowers for my home, and spend much time writing and pondering and over-analyzing life, books, friends and family (I'm one of ten children, so I have lots to ponder). I regularly appear on our local NBC news affiliate, KFOR, as the 'Garden Guru'. I write frequently for HGTV magazine and Southern Living. My garden has been featured in numerous local and national publications. It has been on more garden tours than I can count! Please share in the delights of my little potager.

  1. Linda, love your blog, you inspired me last year to start planting tulips again. So I have a suggestion for you.Salvation Army stores are loaded with Wicker baskets and they are cheap. I plan on cutting the bottom off a few and placing them over my Rozanne Geranium to use as plant support, not sure how it will look but Im expecting wonderful! Deb

    1. You clever girl, Debra! I shop Goodwill for cheap baskets to paint and 'upscale'.... now I must try your trick using them as a support! Thanks for being a reader! Do share if you choose :)
